Here is a brief description of our history
The Townswomen Guild was founded in 1928 by Eva Hubback and Margery Corbett Ashby, who saw a need for an organisation aimed at ordinary women living in the towns and cities. The first Guild opened in 1929 in Haywards Heath. For further information go to: (http://www.the-tg.com) The TG is a platform for women to be active in a social setting and as a community action group at national and local levels. The local guilds support fellowship and friendship, which Townswomen have always experienced now and for future generations. The needs and aspirations of each generation change but friendships will always be essential for a fulfilling and rewarding life.
Yateley TG is a friendly group of over 50 members formed in 1986. We have interesting & entertaining talks, social and fund raising events. This year we are supporting a local charity which is 'Oakley Health Group'. Visitors are always welcome and may attend for three meetings at a cost of £1 each time. Our Annual Membership is £28 (reviewed annually), a proportion of which goes to TGHQ to run the National Organisation. TG is a great way to meet other people and make new friends.
